The Tonopah Astronomical Society meets the first Saturday of every month at 10 AM in the Perchetti Room at the Ramada Station.

Our June 23rd 2007 Public Star Party at Highland Park was the best attended public star party in several years. Several of Tonopah's Cub Scouts were working on their Astronomy Badges. We also had several people from Corvette Clubs in Reno and Las Vegas who heard about the viewing and showed up. Between the Scouts, their parents and the Corvette Club attendees we probably had forty to fifty people show up. This is what public star parties are all about!

A beautiful total eclipse of the moon will start just about sunset on February 20th with the partial part of the eclipse ending shortly after 9 PM. Come out to Highland Park to view the best lunar eclipse for a long time.

Death Valley Star Party
The weekend of March 6th to March 9th at Mesquite Springs Campground near Scotty's Castle
Drop by for a Messier Marathon weekend with Nevada star gazers from Tonopah, Reno and Las Vegas

Join us on March 15th right after sunset at Highland Park in Tonopah for our first public star party of the year. There will be a nice first quarter moon along with Mars, Saturn and the wonders on the constellation Orion for viewing.

May 1st to May 4th will be the Fourth Annual Central Nevada Star Party (CNSPIV) at Monte Cristo's Castle.
